Check whether X-11 libraries are installed or not.
Run "uname -a" on terminal and check your ubuntu version (32 bit or 64 bit).
I also ran across a similar problem while I was using 64bit ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Switching to 32 bit version resolved the problem in my case.

It is possible that xleap was not correctly built. What is the result of the

This sounds like a re-install is required. Try applying the attached patch
file to $AMBERHOME/AmberTools/src/configure -- you may have to apply it by
hand. The re-configure, type "make clean", cd to leap and type "make
install". Look carefully for any error messages.
