I happen to have access to a Mac OS 10.5.8 machine with intel compiler
10.1.015 today and tested it without that netcdf linking problem.
Generally I would suspect that your 10.6 machines didn't have the
compatible linker, but I don't have any proof. Did you install 10.5
SDK when installing the Xcode?
