*Post-doc Biomolecular Simulations/High-Performance Computing*
Department of Physiological Sciences & High-Performance Computing Center
Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK

Oklahoma State University (OSU) Stillwater campus invites applications for
Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research in the area of
computational biochemistry
and molecular biophysics. The successful candidate will work with and
report to Dr. Pratul Agarwal, who is the Assistant Vice President of
Research (Cyber-Infrastructure) and Professor in the Department of
Physiological
Sciences.

Agarwal lab conducts research using a combination of computational and
experimental
techniques. The lab is funded by NIH and a private company. Dr. Agarwal is
also the Director of the High-Performance Computing Center. This Center
houses three supercomputers (Pete, Bullet and TIGER) to support fundamental
research.

The combination of new algorithms and supercomputing power is being used to
address challenging problems in molecular biophysics by investigating various
aspects of biomolecules, including their structure, folding, dynamics and
functions. The lab is currently using biomolecular simulations to
study a variety
of enzyme molecules to understand the various factors that lead to enzyme
rate-enhancement. A postdoctoral position is immediately available, to work
on challenging problems in molecular biochemistry and biophysics.

Responsibilities: The post-doctoral research associate will work with molecular
biophysicists and computational biologists on biomolecular simulations of
enzyme catalysis and focus on understanding the role of various factors,
including intrinsic protein dynamics, in enzyme function.

Requirements and Desired skills: A Ph.D. in computational biology/chemistry
or related fields. Experience with classical MD/QM-MM codes for generation
of free energy profiles is required. Parallel programming experience
in Fortran/C/C++
and familiarity with biomolecular simulations code is also desired.

Apply on OSU website
https://okstate.csod.com/ats/careersite/JobDetails.aspx?site=8&id=9884 and
optionally also e-mail a complete CV (including publications list) and short
statement of research interests in PDF format to Dr. Pratul Agarwal at
pratul.agarwal AT okstate.edu.
