The Computational Drug Discovery Lab at the University of Alberta (Canada), led by Professor Khaled Barakat, has an opening for one postdoctoral fellowship.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to lead exciting projects that integrate data science and machine learning tools to develop novel small molecule inhibitors for protein-protein interactions and membrane proteins.  The successful candidate will receive an in-depth training in the automation of first principles computations, software development and state of the art data science/machine learning techniques.

The ideal candidate should have:

- An advanced degree in bioinformatics, physics or computer science.
- Experience with data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- (Optional) Experience with structural modelling, molecular dynamics simulations and free energy calculations
-  Programming skills, preferably with experience in python.

Interested candidates should submit the following via email to Prof Barakat (kbarakat.ualberta.ca):
- 1-page statement summarizing key research interests, accomplishments and future plans
- Updated CV
- (Optional but helpful) A code sample of software developed by the candidate, either in the form of an archive or a link to a publicly-accessible Github/Gitlab repository.
