Can you say what version of gcc you are using (output of "gcc --version")?

For others on the list who may have encountered this, the error message is
this:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
config.status: executing depfiles commands
config.status: error: in
`/home/ritu/software/amber18/AmberTools/src/netcdf-4.6.1':
config.status: error: Something went wrong bootstrapping makefile fragments
for automatic dependency tracking. Try re-running configure with the
'--disable-dependency-tracking' option to at least be able to build
the package (albeit without support for automatic dependency tracking).
See `config.log' for more details
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please post a comment if you know what is going on here.

Worth trying: add "--disable-dependency-tracking" to the line that
starts "./configure" in AmberTools/src/configure2 (about line 2684). Then
re-run the configure script.

...good luck...dac
