This is a compiler bug, and should go away if you use the more
up-to-date compiler. Not sure why cmake isn't picking up the more
recent gcc. Try "update-alternatives --query gcc" to see what the
default gcc is set to and change if needed. Alternatively, you can try
the legacy 'configure' script and see if that works for you.
