Your error suggests you are missing header files, which are typically
included in "developer" versions of packages (e.g., xorg-devel or something
of the like). I expect that the CentOS instructions are pretty similar to
the Fedora instructions, which are found here:
http://ambermd.org/ubuntu.html (even though it says Ubuntu, Fedora
instructions are at the bottom). Try installing all of those packages (or
getting your admin to do it if you don't have privileges).
