Hi Deepa,

I have a few questions here.

Firstly what do you mean when you say the 64 bit version of Linux?

Do you mean the 64 bit version for x86_64 - i.e. EM64T Pentium / Core / Core
2 / AMD64 / Opteron or do you mean the 64 bit version of IA64 - I.e.
Itanium?

If you mean x86_64 then I can't see what the problem would be. I have
xmgrace (grace v5.1.20) installed on my x86_64 machine and it works
pefectly. This is Redhat EL 4 but that shouldn't make a difference:

cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 6)

uname -a
Linux hostname 2.6.9-67.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Nov 30 11:57:43 EST 2007 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I built xmgrace from the source code simply using "./configure
--prefix=/usr/local/xmgrace"

Since this is an X11 program you likely need to make sure you have the
X11/xorg development libraries installed.

I also don't understand what you mean by you can only use command or batch
mode. What error messages do you get?

All the best
Ross
