...remove any file called "exe" in the AMBERHOME directory and the
do a "mkdir exe"
> ifort -c -w95 -mp1 -O0 -o new2oldparm.o _new2oldparm.f
> ifort: error: could not find linux directory based on g++
...My first guess: you don't have g++ installed.
have a look and install it if necessary.
