Jim Caldwell pointed out recently that Nancy Mutnick has left her position
as contact person for Amber licensing. It is with similar sadness that
I will point out the Jim himself is leaving UCSF, after many years of service
in the Kollman and post-Kollman groups. Jim contributed greatly to efforts
to develop polarizable force fields, and to many applications of free energy
calculations. He has also served as a computer administrator as well, in
particular running the Amber web site and mail reflector.
Contrary to rumors, Jim is not leaving science to retire to Montana, but he
won't be around to run UCSF computers either. For this reason, the web
site has been moved to its new location:
http://amber.scripps.edu/
(Note: there is no "www" in the above address). The new site should be
up and running...please let me know if you experience any difficulties.
We'll be moving the mail reflector soon, and I'll post a message when that
occurs.
