I bet you're running up against a software memory limit. There are several ways around
this, I would check with your system administrator to learn how to ncrease your
memory limit. Most shells have a command "unlimit" or "ulimit" (see the man page for
your shell) which helps you remove stack or memory limits. I'd guess either
"unlimit -s unlimited" or "ulimit -s unlimited" would do the job.
