As the dates indicate, Ubuntu 18.04 was issued two years after AmberTools16
was released. Ubuntu 18.04 uses gcc7 as its compiler suite, and there
are parts of AmberTools16 that will not compile correctly with the newer
compilers.
As Bill Ross indicated, the most straightforward solution is to download
AmberTools18, which is fine with version 7 of the gnu compilers. You could
also install earlier versions of the gcc suite, but you would miss out on lots
of other bug fixes and improvements that have been made in the past two years.
...hope this helps....dac
