Hello David,

I’ve figured out that CUDA 9.0 requires Xcode command line tools 8.3 to be installed. I’ve reverted to Command Line Tools 8.3 and solved the issue as suggested by this guide: https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/issues/3047

Make install now gives me the following error:

ld: warning: directory not found for option '-L/Developer/NVIDIA/CUDA-9.0/lib64'
ld: library not found for -lcuda
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [pbsa.cuda] Error 1
make[1]: *** [cuda_serial] Error 2
make: *** [install] Error 2

I do not understand why the directory is not there as I have downloaded CUDA 9.0 toolkit directly from the Nvidia site. Thank you in advance.

As far as I can tell, the nvidia system requirements are given here:

https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.nvidia.com%2Fcuda%2Fcuda-installation-guide-mac-os-x%2Findex.html%23system-requirements&data=02%7C01%7CKadir.Ozcan%40jefferson.edu%7Cf18b16d05961440111de08d5aa15a18b%7C55a89906c710436bbc444c590cb67c4a%7C0%7C0%7C636601932238029231&sdata=kDFvIf%2BiZYusjaYHU%2FYdEIN%2B9AmTeD3IZXSIkBS62wA%3D&reserved=0

As you can see, you need XCode 9.2. If you Google on "xcode 9.2
download" you will see a variety of options, depending on whether or not
you have Apple developer id (which is *not* needed.)

...hope this helps....dac
