Thanks for the report. We are working on what should be a fix, but it
won't happen until Wed. morning at the earliest.
Just to check:
1. Can you use a browser to connect to ambermd.org ? (The website should
be operational.)
2. Try this: cd $AMBERHOME; ./update_amber --check-updates
Do you get a nice message saying NoInternetConnection? Or, do you get
a series of python messages that refer to urllib2() and the like? (Or
something else?)

Actually, I think (hope) it is related to the fact that, in the new
webpage installation, ambermd.org is getting translated to a URL
with "www." prepended. A browser doesn't much care, but update_amber
and similar scripts do care.
