It's not clear what version of configure you are really running...The "-help"
response from configure *should* show you that none of the above are allowed
options: "./configure gnu" is what you want. So, either you are not reading
the help message correctly, or you are running some different version of
configure, perhaps from an older copy of Amber(?)
