Apropos of my previous post regarding the sander error, I have decided to
re-install Amber on a separate node at my server. I am, however, now facing
an unexpected problem with compilation. I am working on Sun Microsystems'
Sun Fire X2200 series server that has Red Hat Linux Enterprise Linux Server
release 5 (Tikanga) installed on it. It has 4GB RAM and 4 Dual Core AMD
Opteron Processors 2220. The 'uname -a' command gives the following:
Linux storage.localdomain 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jan 26 14:15:14 EST 2007
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
The tar files of AMBER have been been untared, with AmberTools-1.3.tar
extracting in amber11 directory and Amber10.tar extracting in amber10
directory. As per the instructions of the Amber10 Installation Manual, I
have set up the AMBERHOME environment variable and bug-fixed it. In my bash,
the 'echo $AMBERHOME' command gives the following:
/home/AMBER-backup/Amber-Tools/amber11/
However, once I go to the next step, i.e., 'cd $AMBERHOME/src' and type
'./configure -static g95' to generate config.h file, I get the following
error:
Setting AMBERHOME to /home/AMBER-backup/Amber-Tools/amber11
Error: Architecture/compiler g95 is not supported!
Type './configure -help' for options.
I have the g95, as well as the g77 and gcc compilers installed on my system.
However, this error occurs for every possible compiler that is available as
is shown through the './configure -help' command. With gcc, I get:
Setting AMBERHOME to /home/AMBER-backup/Amber-Tools/amber11
Error: Architecture/compiler gcc is not supported!
Type './configure -help' for options.
With g77, I get the same result:
Setting AMBERHOME to /home/AMBER-backup/Amber-Tools/amber11
Error: Architecture/compiler g77 is not supported!
Type './configure -help' for options.
I have provided the specs of my server and have all the requiste compilers
installed. I would really appreciate if I can be guided and helped in this
