Very appreciated for your help! So, I think my problem is due to my bad habit rather than this software. I think not using O may be a better choice for me.

You could move your files elsewhere once a long job has run.
Or don't use the -O flag to overwrite output - then the job
will stop if you try to start it again (and you will have
to remove old output by hand if you want to re-run).
