This would probably go into the FFLAGS variable you give to the configure
command for mpich2. (It might be F90FLAGS: you will have to look at the
mpich2 documentation.)
Is there any chance that you have a friend who is experienced with computers
and knows how to run "nm" and track down naming conflicts like this? This is
the sort of problem that is very difficult to debug remotely, but it usually
straightforward who has been through this before and who has access to your
machine.
