You need to have the X11 development package installed on the system.
I don't know what it's called in whatever kind of Linux the Altixes
have these days. On RHEL4 the rpm goes by the name of xorg-x11-devel,
and the include files for X are in /usr/X11R6/include/X11.

The solution is installing all the development headers you need.

Yep, you need to install the X11 development package if you want to
compile programs that use X.
