My fear is that no one on the list will be able to help out much, since this
really looks like a gcc installation problem. We have compiled bondtype.C
without problems on many Redhat installations (as well as lots of others),
going back to RedHat 7.2 and gcc 2.96 (and everything moving forward).
If you can find a friend with a Linux machine, maybe you can compile this
program on that machine, and copy the executable over to yours, and see if
that will work. Alexey Onufriev's group (in computer science on your campus)
are experienced Amber users, so that might be a good place to look. Maybe
someone over there is a g++ guru as well...
Do you know if your compiler installation passes the test suite? Can you
compile simple C++ codes that exercise the vector facility? If those work,
and bondtype.C doesn't, that might help in finding the problem.
