If you are using the original, unmodified Machine.g77 file, it should never
try to call "cc", but rather "gcc". Your MACHINE file should have a line
like this:
setenv CC gcc
You might want to see if you can re-extract the original Machine.g77 file, if
it has indeed somehow been changed.
