Hello Manasa,
Cmake should definitely be 3.X, but your error does not look like a cmake version issue. It looks more like a rebuild from a source dir that has some leftover artifacts from a previous build. Try again from clean source and build directories and let me know.

Hello AMBER developers/community,
While amber pmemd installations of versions 24 and 26 this keep popping up
at the ./run cmake step, it shows something like:
CMake Error at AmberTools/src/kmmd/CMakeLists.txt:15 (add_library):
add_library cannot create target "kmmd" because another target with the
same name already exists. The existing target is an interface library
created in source directory "/home/<folder_name>/pmemd24_src". See
documentation
for policy CMP0002 for more details.
This feels like a cmake version needs to be different, a little help on why
this happens?
