I tried to compile xtb and dftbplus today but recent changes in dftbplus now require a much newer compiler than I have installed, and I don't have the time today to install a newer compiler. I would recommend trying the last tagged release from the dftbplus github site rather than the most recent main branch commit. I see it is version 24.1 from Feb 2024: https://github.com/dftbplus/dftbplus/tags
