Yes, the MacOS X Snow Leopard unfortunately breaks the Java code in the
Sirius 3D implementation, which causes the workspace to cover the
surrounding GUI elements. All previous versions of MacOS X worked fine.
There is no workaround for it at this point.
I'll see whether I can find something to fix it, but in reality it might
not happen soon (I no longer work at SDSC and would have to do it in my
spare time on top of an unrelated day job).
Fatima, are you installing on Ubuntu as a regular user or root/sudo?
Should be installed as a regular user from your home directory.
