Dear Amber Community,

I am migrating from RHEL4 to SUSE 10. If someone has successfully
installed Amber 8 on an AMD 64 machine with Suse 10, please provide a
little how to information on any particulars. I am using the Intel
iFort compilier. So far after doing a "./configure ifort", "make
serial" gives me the following:

sequoia:/usr/local/amber8/src # make serial
Starting installation of Amber8 (serial) at Tue Jun 13 23:14:52 EDT
2006.
mkdir ../exe
mkdir: cannot create directory `../exe': File exists
make: [serial] Error 1 (ignored)
cd lib; make install
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/amber8/src/lib'
cpp -traditional -P -I/usr/local/amber8/src/include new2oldparm.f >
_new2oldparm.f
ifort -c -w95 -mp1 -O0 -o new2oldparm.o _new2oldparm.f
ifort: error: could not find linux directory based on g++
make[1]: *** [new2oldparm.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/amber8/src/lib'
make: *** [serial] Error 2

I am a Linux newbie and don't know where to go from here.

Thanks,
