After a quick look on google i found some info on gdb (is that suitable) and ran it which gave the following information;
Reading symbols from shared object read from target memory...(no debugging symbols found)...done.
Loaded system supplied DSO at 0x40000000

Dear Prof. Case,

Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/specs
Configured with: ../configure --disable-shared --enable-languages=c,c++,f77 --enable-version-specific-runtime-libs
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.3.5
uname -a gave the following info;
Linux fancy.bham.ac.uk 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 #1 Thu Jun 2 22:55:56 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
I`m still quite inexperienced with linux so please could you tell me what i need to do to run a debugger?
Many thanks
Simon
