Hi amber users,
Are there any estimates for residence time of electrons/holes in DNA
strands, which will be sequence dependent?
Background: We are interested in knowing if there have been any studies of
change in DNA topology as a result of charge being localized on base
pairs. We would like to know if trapped charge on base pairs can change
DNA topology. Charge can be trapped on bases due to charge tranport,
induced by space radiation or otherwise. To get a first order inkling of
if trapped charge will change the conformation, we would like to compare
the
(1) residence time of electrons/holes in DNA strands which will be
sequence dependent
and
(2) time required for change in topology/conformation.
Related to (2) we would like to know if some changes in topology have a
much smaller time scale compared to others
Thank you,
Ioana
