Adrian: If you are really needed to use a DOS shell on Windows 95 or Windows
98, I think it won't work. DOS is a 16-bit OS. The "Command shell" on
Windows2000/XP is not a DOS shell (although it is often called that); rather
it is a true 32-bit command shell.

I'll be interested to see how this all turns out!
