Hi CCLers,

   I tried without -rsh=ssh. The configure recognize ssh and mpirun
   has a line with "RSHCOMMAND=/usr/bin/ssh". Once I tried mpirun
   again. The problem is still there and the message is the same.

   May the the system has been set to turn off parallel jobs?

Last time I compiled mpich, it told me the -rsh flag was deprecated, use
RSHCOMMAND=/usr/bin/ssh ./configure
instead. Perhaps your MPICH build is still trying to use rsh?
But from the error I suspect it has already started the remote MPI
processes.
