You could try removing all comments from src/leap/src/leap/Imakefile,
I.e. lines starting with 'XCOMM':

% cd amber7/src/leap/src/leap
% egrep -v '^XCOMM' Imakefile > xx
% mv xx Imakefile

However it appears that the comments being complained about below
were inserted by the xmkmf setup itself, which could mean a faulty
X compilation setup.
