Dear Margaret:
What compile are you using (IE, give us the output of gcc -v)
If the computer experiences an ICE (internal compiler error) it is a compiler
bug. The compiler in Red Hat 6.2 is reliable, so I suspect you updated to
a newer version fo the compiler.
